Unfortunately, you aren’t going to lose twenty pounds in one week, so if you set out and fail, you may decide to give up.

In your journal, you also want to write down your starting weight and measurements. Measure a few different areas on your body and write down your findings. This journal can be private if you choose, so do not be worried about writing down things you do not want others seeing. You might also want to take a before picture and put it in your journal. Having your starting statistics will come in handy on your journey. It will give you something to look back on and see your success and help keep you motivated to continue on.

Next, make a concious decision that you will lose weight. Many times weight loss can be successful when the participant really wants it to happen. Make sure that you are committed to this goal and will do all it takes to lose the weight you want to lose. If you aren’t ready to give it all you’ve got, you may not see the success that you want to see.

Begin eating less and eating healthier. Cut out all foods that are full of sugar, processed, fatty, fried and not good for you. Instead, eat healthy foods in moderation. Eat fresh foods like fruits and vegetables and lean meats. You can also eat nuts, beans, whole grains, and other food items that are good for your body. It might help you, too, to write down what you are eating in your weight loss journal. This will give you a good way to reflect and see why or why you are not losing weight.

Exercise is crucial to weight loss. It is important that you take part in some type of exercise most days of the week. Going for a walk after dinner is a great way to unwind and get in a good amount of exercise. There are many exercise options out there; find one that interests you and join in.
